Potrebitsch with third long distance at Challenge Barcelona

Georg Potrebitsch will be at the star line of Challenge Barcelona on Sunday ( October 6 ). For the Russian it is the third long distance race in this year. Only three weeks ago he was able to become second at Challenge Amesterdam. In the Netherlands, he had to deal with tough weather conditions, in Spain will wait record-breaking conditions for the athletes.

"The training camp with the boys was a big motivation for me"

After a long distance race triathletes slow it down for a few weeks. After some time you will begin again with the easy training. Actually George Potrebitsch has done nothing but that, with only one significant difference: He already starts again on Sunday over the long distance. "The camp with the boys at the Viva Blue Hotel in Mallorca, all the good food, the sun, and so many cheerful people around me, were good for me and to recover fast and well," said a relaxed Potrebitsch a few days before the start in Barcelona.

Golden October?
The second places at Challenge Taiwan and Challenge Amsterdam were very good results for Georg Potrebitsch in this year’s season. Well, "let's see what else is possible now, or even just not possible," quips the POWER HORSE athlete. A subsequent long distance, for example in Arizona or Australia were not an option. "Too hot, too expensive and there is just little prize money," and so he looks forward to Barcelona: "I love Challenge Barcelona! A golden October, 25 degrees which already makes fun and besides, I was third here in 2010. What is possible now? Let's see, I have no more pressure."
